Superintendent

Superintendent Danny Hayes is a proud parent, grandfather, and longtime educator.

The superintendent works closely with leaders across the district to manage the daily operations of the school system. His work ensures that local, state, and federal guidelines, rules, and laws are implemented in our schools. Danny also collaborates with leaders in the community and strives to be a partner with his colleagues in education, government, and business.

Danny brought his rich background in Georgia education to Whitfield County Schools when he was recommended in 2006 to be Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.

His career began in 1979 as a physical education teacher in Leesburg. Since then, he has served students and staff as teacher, high school assistant principal, high school principal, curriculum director, and human resources director at other schools and districts around the state. He has also coached middle and high school basketball, baseball, football, and wrestling.
