Pre-K Registration for 2012–2013 School Year on March 5–6

Pre-kindergarten registration for Whitfield County Schools is on Monday and Tuesday, March 5–6.

Families may only register children for prekindergarten at the Whitfield County Health Department at 808 Professional Boulevard in Dalton (Click for Google map) from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, March 5, and from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6. For quicker service, please download and complete the registration forms in advance and bring them with you to the health department for registration.

A parent seeking admission for their child must be present to register.

Kindergarten enrollment opens Monday, Jan. 9

Kindergarten enrollment in Whitfield County Schools opens Monday, Jan. 9.

 
This enrollment is not for pre-kindergarten, which will open in March. Parents of incoming Whitfield County kindergarteners may begin the registration process at the Student Services Center at 201 East Tyler Street, Dalton, GA 30721. To be eligible for kindergarten in the fall, students must be five years old before Sept. 1.
 
Parents must provide:
  • proof of residence within the Whitfield County School System (Power bill, water bill that shows “service address”, rent receipt, lease agreement, or settlement statement, or

School Transfer Requests Available

Transfer Request formWhitfield County Schools will accept applications for out-of-zone and out-of-district students July 5-14.

Visit our Enrollment page to see which schools have seats available and to download a Transfer Request form. You may also pick up a copy of the form at the central office at 1306 South Thornton Avenue or the Services Center at 201 E. Tyler St.

All applications must be returned to either office by close of business on Thursday, July 14.
