Northwest Whitfield Pilots "Farm to School" Program

Northwest Whitfield High School agriculture students welcomed guests including state school board member Larry Winter yesterday to tour their "Farm to School" program, one of only 17 launched in Georgia this year.

Serving farm fresh locally-grown produce in school cafeterias teaches students about agriculture and creates new markets for Georgia farmers, a smart strategy to support the local economy while promoting student health.

Updated! Public Invited to Learn About Budget Challenges

Whitfield County Schools will host a series of public meetings to alert the community to funding challenges totaling $30 million, student needs in the school system, the ESPLOST, and how those factors impact all residents.

The meetings to discuss the general fund budget and the capital improvements program will begin at Westside Middle School on Tuesday, May 1, at 6 p.m.

Five Whitfield County Schools are among the Top 10 recyclers in Georgia!

Keep Dalton-Whitfield Beautiful has posted a press announcement with the results of the first ever Recycle-Bowl Competition hosted by Keep America Beautiful nationwide. Below are the Top 10 Schools for the state of Georgia.

2012–2013 School Calendar

NHS Tech Students Taking Talent to State Competition

Three of the four Northwest Whitfield High School students who took top honors at the 2012 Sequoyah Regional Technology Fair will proceed to the next round of competition at the state level.
