Pre-kindergarten registration for Whitfield County Schools is on Monday and Tuesday, March 5–6.

Families may only register children for prekindergarten at the Whitfield County Health Department at 808 Professional Boulevard in Dalton (Click for Google map) from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, March 5, and from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6. For quicker service, please download and complete the registration forms in advance and bring them with you to the health department for registration.

A parent seeking admission for their child must be present to register.

WCA Pre-K Earns Certification

The Whitfield Career Academy Pre-K program earned its certification from the National Association for the Education of Young Children, which is one of the steps to earning industry certification for our Early Childhood Education program was for the pre-kindergarten class at the Career Academy to earn certification by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Under the direction of lead teacher Kasi Hicks and assistant teacher Teresa Plavich, ours is the first class to earn that certification on the first attempt.

Early Childhood Education Program Earns Industry Certification

The Early Childhood Education program at the Whitfield Career Academy will soon be "industry certified."
 
Instructor Suzanne Mooney leads the Early Childhood Education program at the Career Academy. To earn Industry Certification, the pre-kindergarten class first had to be certified by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, which the class earned under the direction of lead teacher Kasi Hicks and assistant teacher Teresa Plavich.
