School system personnel and community members will visit Eastside Elementary and read to students this week. The "Book Blizzard" celebrates children’s authors and illustrators week, which is Feb. 5–11.
Teachers are swapping classrooms to read and students are pairing up to read together. The celebration will end with a book character parade where students will dress up as a character from a favorite book.
The "blizzard" is one of many other experiences teachers have planned this year to promote literacy.
